As the March 3rd Trade Deadline approaches, Jesse Puljujarvi's name continues to be brought up in rumors. While he is still a young player, the fact that the Edmonton Oilers might move on from their forward should come as no surprise. The team will certainly look around the league for a trade partner. However, if Puljujarvi is waived by the club, it would be a disappointing ending for both parties. The 6'4" winger has failed to live up to the expectations thrust upon him after being selected by the Edmonton Oilers with the fourth pick of the 2016 NHL Draft. However, a change of scenery could pay off drastically for the Swedish forward.
According to multiple reports, there is interest around the league in acquiring the struggling forward, with the Tampa Bay Lightning viewed as a potential landing spot. However, the "Bolts" may be incentivized to wait and see what Edmonton has planned with their player.
