NHL fans have not liked the action of Jordan Binnington during the game between the St. Louis Blues and the Minnesota Wild. He served a match penalty for hitting Ryan Hartman in the face.

One fan wrote :

"I know I’m late but Jordan Binnington is a fucking loser"

It all happened in the 13th minute of the second period when the Wild were leading 5-4. It started with an unsportsmanlike act by Ryan Hartman against Jordan Binnington after he scored a goal.

When the Wild players started celebrating, Binnington went straight into the group and punched Hertman, starting a brawl. The referees had to control the situation as they served Binnington a match penalty as his team lost the game 8-5.

Here are a few more tweets on the same:

Jordan Binnington has played 51 games while spending 58 minutes on Ice and has a win-loss record of 22-29. He has allowed 3.33 goals per game this season, with 1377 saves at a save percentage of 0.894. There has been a downfall in his performances. He has to do better in the upcoming games to finish it on a high.

But if we look at his overall season, he has done well. In 214 games, averaging 57 minutes on the ice, he has allowed 2.78 goals per game with a save percentage of 0.906. He has won 112 games, including 12 shootouts for his team.

How have the St.Louis Blues performed this season?

The St. Louis Blues have had a decent season, but lost their footing afterward and are sixth in the Western Conference Central Division with 63 points. They are 16 points behind the fourth spot and have to win every game from now on to have any chance of the playoffs.

Their offense has been decent and has scored 207 goals with contributions from Jordan Kyrou and Pavel Buchnevich. Both have 53 goals and 72 assists between them. The defense has failed and has conceded 3.72 goals per game. Goaltenders have also failed to do their job, which has affected the team's play badly.

They lost four of their last six games and are under extreme pressure in the upcoming challenges. It will be interesting to see, how the Blues will overcome this slump and keep their playoff dream alive. The Blues play the Washington Capitals next on March 17, 2023.
