Linus Ullmark is a Swedish ice hockey player in the National Hockey League who plays as a goaltender for the Ottawa Senators. He was born in Lugnvik, Sweden, on July 31, 1993. His playing career began in Sweden, where he played for Modo Hockey of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) for three years. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (163rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Ullmark made his NHL debut with the Sabres on October 24, 2015, against the New Jersey Devils. He spent the majority of his first two NHL seasons with the Sabres' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rochester Americans. Linus established himself as the Sabres' starting goaltender in the 2018-19 season. He played in 37 games for the Sabres that season, recording a 15-14-5 record with a 3.11 goals against average (GAA) and a .905 save percentage (SV%).
Ullmark became a free agent after the 2020-21 season and signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Boston Bruins. He had a breakout season with the Bruins in the 2022-23 season, leading the NHL in wins (40), GAA (1.89), and SV% (.938). He was also named a Vezina Trophy finalist (best goaltender in the NHL).
