Logan Cooley is an American professional ice hockey center, playing for the Utah Hockey Club in the NHL. Born May 4, 2004, he was drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Before the NHL, Cooley attended the University of Minnesota. During his freshman season in 2022-23, he recorded 60 points, marking the fifth-highest single-season total by a Gophers freshman, and ranked third for assists with 38. He earned numerous awards for his performance, including a spot as a Hobey Baker Hat Trick finalist, Big Ten Scoring Co-Champion, and AHCA/CCM Hockey All-American West First Team honors.

Internationally, Cooley led Team USA in scoring with 14 points at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, contributing significantly to their bronze medal victory.

Logan Cooley has played for multiple teams at various levels throughout his hockey career. Starting with the U.S. National U18 team, he honed his skills in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, where he gained valuable experience, playing there for two seasons. Cooley initially committed to the University of Notre Dame but later shifted to the University of Minnesota, where he played a standout season in 2022-23. He recorded impressive stats with Minnesota, including 22 goals and 38 assists in just 39 games.

Cooley was drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Initially planning to return to Minnesota for a second season, he ultimately signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Coyotes in July 2023. Cooley impressed during his first NHL season, making the Coyotes' opening-day roster and quickly becoming a key contributor with his 20 goals 24 assists and, 44 points. His first NHL game was successful, where he assisted on the game-tying goal. Later, he scored his first NHL goal against the Anaheim Ducks on November 1.

After the 2023-24 season, the Coyotes’ assets were transferred to the new Utah Hockey Club, making Cooley a member of the newly established team.
