Luke Richardson

Luke Glen Richardson is a former Canadian professional ice hockey coach and as of November 2024, serves as a head coach for the Chicago Blackhawks. He had an impressive 21-season career as a defenseman in the NHL before becoming a coach. Richardson was selected as the seventh overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 1991.

In his last season, he played for the Ottawa Senators and was nominated for the Masterton Trophy in 2008. However, Richardson decided to officially retire from playing in November 2008. Richardson became a coach in the NHL after announcing his retirement. He joined the Ottawa Senators as an assistant coach in 2009. As of November 2024, Richardson is serving as head coach for the Chicago Blackhawks, signing a four-year contract with them on June 27, 2022.
