Macklin Celebrini Family

Macklin Celebrini is a Canadian ice hockey professional player. He was born on June 13, 2006, in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Drafted first overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, he began his professional career as a center. Celebrini’s journey started in Vancouver, where he played minor hockey before his family moved to the U.S. Celebrini is the son of a former soccer player and now a sports performance expert. Celebrini's brother Aiden Celebrini was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks, and the two played together for the Boston University Terriers, where Macklin had an outstanding freshman year, winning the Hobey Baker Award.

Rick Celebrini, a former professional soccer player, transitioned into a role as a physiotherapist for the Golden State Warriors as per ESPN. Robyn, his mother was an accomplished tennis player. Their love for sports became the foundation for raising three sons, but it was always about character development first.

The Celebrini family moved to the Bay Area when Macklin was young, a decision that changed the course of their lives. With a growing focus on hockey, the family opted for online schooling for all three children, allowing them the flexibility to train and travel while maintaining their education.

Rick Celebrini’s background in high-level sports gave him a clear understanding of the sacrifices and work required to succeed at the highest levels. Both parents have prioritized their children’s growth and success.

Macklin Celebrini has two brothers, Aiden and R.J., and one sister Charlie Celebrini. Both his brothers played significant roles in his journey. Aiden Celebrini, the older brother was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks and played junior hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Now, he continues to pursue his hockey career, with aspirations of reaching the professional level. R.J., the youngest at 11 years old, is following in his brothers’ footsteps, already showing promise as an athlete. Although he’s not yet at the same level, R.J. looks up to his older brothers Macklin and Aiden Celebrini, dreaming of joining them in the NHL.

"I definitely think I want to do what they're doing," R.J. said of his brothers via ESPN. "They're having lots of success and I want to follow their footsteps."

Growing up in a hockey-obsessed household, the Celebrini brothers spent countless hours on the rink together, sharpening their skills and nurturing a sibling rivalry that only strengthened their bond. Their early days were filled with trips to rinks, training camps, and tournaments, where each brother pushed the other to improve. Charlie Celebrini, the sister of Macklin Celenrini is a tennis player, a sophomore from Livermore, California, who attends ICL Academy and is part of the class of 2027.
