Star forward William Nylander is dealing with an illness and is a game-time decision to play on Wednesday. John Tavares missed Saturday's game with an illness, as coach Craig Berube said it's running through the room.

- Simon Benoit - Timothy Liljegren
Timothy Liljegren is expected to make his season debut on Wednesday. The former first-round pick has been a healthy scratch in Toronto's first three games.
"Obviously not fun not playing, but I've tried to come in and work as hard as I can to get back in the lineup," Liljegren said, via Sportsnet of his struggles in training camp. "I've been struggling a little bit, trying to find my way ... I don't have a good answer for you. I tried my best, but it didn't go my way."
With Liljegren back in the lineup, Conor Timmins will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday.
