The Toronto Maple Leafs return home to host the St. Louis Blues on Thursday at 7 p.m. EDT.

Ahead of the game, here is the projected Maple Leafs lineup.

Maple Leafs predicted lineup

Forwards

  • Matthew Knies - Auston Matthews - Mitch Marner
  • Bobby McMann - Max Domi - William Nylander
  • Max Pacioretty - John Tavares - Nick Robertson
  • Steven Lorentz - David Kampf - Pontus Holmberg

David Kampf will likely return to the lineup on Thursday while Ryan Reaves should be a scratch as the Maple Leafs need to get an offensive spark, so keeping Pacioretty and Robertson in the lineup makes sense.

Defensemen

  • Morgan Rielly - Chris Tanev
  • Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Jake McCabe
  • Simon Benoit - Conor Timmins

The Maple Leafs haven't made many changes to their blue line and the pairings and they should stick with the same six on Thursday.

Goalies

  • Anthony Stolarz
  • Dennis Hildeby

Joseph Woll is still not healthy, which is starting to be a concern, as Anthony Stolarz will return in the net and he has already exceeded expectations this season.

Maple Leafs vs Blues: Preview

Toronto is a -220 favorite, while St. Louis is a +180 underdog. The over/under is set at 6.5 goals.

The Maple Leafs are coming off a disappointing 6-2 blowout loss on the road to Columbus after blowing out the Tampa Bay Lightning the night before.

“Just not good from the start,” Toronto forward Mitch Marner said on Tuesday, via NHL.com. “Not competitive enough throughout the game. They brought their best and we brought our worst."

Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube was also disappointed with his team's play:

“I didn’t feel like we skated very well tonight. They skated through us all night. We didn’t win many puck battles tonight, didn’t defend very well tonight and that’s what you get.
“It boils down to they outskated us. They outworked us and they were a harder team than we were. Bottom line.”

Toronto will likely come out aggressive get a win after a disappointing loss to Columbus. The Maple Leafs will get out to an early lead and Stolarz should be able to limit the Blues' chances and lead Toronto to a big win.

Prediction: Maple Leafs 4, Blues 1.
