Mattias Hans Ekholm is a Swedish ice hockey defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers. He has tasted success in various international and domestic competitions, including winning a gold medal at the 2008 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup and being named the top rookie in the Swedish Elite League in 2010-11.

Ekholm made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators in 2011 but found his breakthrough moment in the 2015-16 season as he recorded 35 points over 82 regular-season games. He followed this up with strong performances over the following seasons before he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 2023.
