Mattias Janmark is a professional ice hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers who hails from Danderyd, Sweden. Notably, he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings as the 79th overall pick in 2013 NHL Entry Draft despite being twice overlooked in the NHL Draft prior to that. However, his rights were later traded to the Dallas Stars where he made a memorable debut as he scored his first ever goal in 99 seconds after coming in that day. In his rookie season, Janmark tallied 15 goals and 29 points after which a serious knee condition plagued him that forced him to miss the 2016-17 season.

He bounced back in 2017-18, where he notched up 19 goals and 15 assists. This was enough for him to secure a one-year contract extension with the Stars. Nonetheless, he left the Stars after the 2019-20 season and joined the Chicago Blackhawks on a one-year, $2.25 million contract. Notwithstanding, his contributions continued, notably scoring in the 2020 NHL Winter Classic. Recently, Janmark signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers in June 2023 and capped off 25 points with them in the recently concluded NHL season.
