Michael Hage hails from Mississauga, Ontario and began his hockey journey with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U14 AAA team in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) U14 league. He later progressed through the ranks and played for the U15 AAA and U16 AAA teams. This included a 46 goal season in 2021-22. He also registered 70 assists in the meantime and had an goal contribution of 116 during 57 games that season. Hage then played with the Chicago Steel in the USHL, where he made his debut during the 2022-23 season, overcoming a setback with a torn labrum. The 2023-24 season saw Hage tally 33 goals and 42 assists in 54 regular-season games with the Chicago Steel. His outstanding performance earned him recognition as a top forward in the USHL and paved the way for his commitment to play college hockey at the University of Michigan for the 2025-26 season.


During the 2023–24 season, Hage recorded 33 goals and 42 assists in 54 regular-season games, ranking sixth in goals and tied for tenth in assists in the USHL. His outstanding performance earned him recognition as the USHL Forward of the Week twice during the season. As a result, he is considered as one of the top prospects eligible for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
