Michael Hage hails from Mississauga, Ontario and began his hockey journey with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U14 AAA team in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) U14 league. He later progressed through the ranks and played for the U15 AAA and U16 AAA teams. This included a 46 goal season in 2021-22. He also registered 70 assists in the meantime and had an goal contribution of 116 during 57 games that season. Hage then played with the Chicago Steel in the USHL, where he made his debut during the 2022-23 season, overcoming a setback with a torn labrum.
