The Minnesota Frost are a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was founded as part of the six-team Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and began play in January 2024. Klee was drafted 177th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1990 NHL Draft but didn’t play for them until the 1994-95 season. After nine seasons, Klee became a free agent and signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his first season in Toronto, he achieved career highs in assists (25) and points (29). Klee was later traded to the New Jersey Devils and signed with the Colorado Avalanche in 2006, leading the team with a plus/minus of 18. He later played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Anaheim Ducks, and Phoenix Coyotes before unofficially retiring.

Klee represented the United States in various international tournaments, including the 1991 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and the 1992, 1997, and 2004 World Championships. As a coach, Klee led the U.S. Women's National Team to several successes, including a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship. He also coached the U.S. Women's Under-22 Select Team, leading them to a perfect record in 2014. In 2017, Klee joined the Syracuse Crunch as an assistant coach. In 2023, became the head coach of PWHL Minnesota after Charlie Burggraf's departure.

Minnesota Frost General Manager

According to MinnPost, The Minnesota Frost's current General Manager is Melissa Caruso. She was hired in September 2024, following the dismissal of former GM Natalie Darwitz. Caruso has experience in the American Hockey League (AHL) and its operations and governance.
