The Minnesota Wild is a professional ice hockey team competing in the NHL. Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the Wild compete in the Central Division in the Western Conference. The team plays their home games at the Xcel Energy Center and is owned by Craig Leipold. The franchise has two affiliate teams Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL. The franchise was founded on June 25, 1997, and started playing in the NHL in the 2000-2001 season.

They made their first playoff appearance in 2003 where they advanced to the Western Conference Finals. As of 2024, they have reached the playoffs 13 times and won their first division championship in 2008. The Minnesota Wild have not inducted any player into the Hall of Fame as of 2024. However, the team's coach Jacques Lemaire was inducted as a player in 1985.

Minnesota Wild schedule

The Minnesota Wild’s 2024-25 regular season schedule is all set to start on October 10, 2024, featuring 82 games that are split evenly between 41 home and 41 away. The team will be starting their season against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Xcel Energy Center.

Their 2024-2025 regular season includes 17 weekend games, with three on Fridays, nine on Saturdays, and six on Sundays. The Wild's season also includes a long seven-game trip from October 13 to October 29, as well as nine road games in January.

March is the busiest month of the team with 11 home games. In addition to that, the Wild will play 10 games that start before 5 p.m., including six home games and four away.

The Minnesota Wilds will be playing 26 games against Central Division opponents, with matchups against Chicago, Colorado, and Dallas. The team will also play each Eastern Conference team twice, once at home arena and once on the road, totaling 32 games. The highlight of the season will be a new 4 Nations Face-Off, featuring national teams from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States. The event will take place from February 12-20, 2025, in Montreal and Boston.
