Nathan MacKinnon is an ice hockey player in the NHL, playing with the Colorado Avalanche. He was born on September 1, 1995, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He played in the Bantam AAA at the age of 12. MacKinnon played with Cole Harbour's minor ice hockey league where he collected 200 points in just 50 games. He played two seasons for the Cole Harbour Red Wings.
The Colorado Avalanche selected him first overall in the 2013 NHL Entry draft. He made his NHL debut on October 2, 2013, and became the youngest player in a regular season game for the Avalanche.
