The New York Islanders, also known as the Isles, are a professional ice hockey franchise based in Elmont, New York that was founded in 1972. Presently, the Islanders play under the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). Moreover, the team is owned by New York Islanders Hockey Club, L.P with Scott Malkin serving as governor and co-founder of the Islanders. Furthermore, they are one of the three teams based in the New York Metropilitian area, alongside the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers.
Notably, the team plays its home games at USB Arena (since 2021), with the Nassau Coliseum and the Barclays Center serving as its previous home arenas.
