The New York Sirens are a professional ice hockey team based in the New York metropolitan area and are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). They play home games at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. In their inaugural season, the Sirens played the league's first-ever game on New Year's Day 2024, defeating PWHL Toronto 4–0.

The team struggled through the season, becoming the first eliminated from playoff contention. At the 2024 PWHL Draft, the Sirens secured the first overall pick and selected Sarah Fillier. For the 2024–25 season, the team moved their home games to the Prudential Center and relocated their practice facility to the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange.

Greg Fargo is the New York Sirens' head coach for the 2024-25 season. He was appointed on June 7, 2024, after a highly successful coaching career at the collegiate level.

According to Colgate Athletics, before joining the Sirens, he was the head coach at Colgate University. He led the women's hockey program for 12 seasons, transforming it into a powerhouse with seven 20-win seasons, five NCAA Tournament berths, and three consecutive ECAC championships.

Before Colgate, Fargo coached at Elmira College, achieving an impressive 84-23-5 record (.772 win percentage). He led the team to two NCAA Division III Frozen Four appearances and won two ECAC West championships.

Fargo has contributed to Canada's national women’s hockey program as an assistant coach for the U18 team, earning a silver medal at the 2016 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship.

Fargo played as a goaltender at Elmira College, setting career records in saves and minutes played. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in adolescent education and social studies and later earned a master’s degree in physical education from Canisius College.

New York Sirens General Manager

According to PWHL, Pascal Daoust is the general manager of the New York Sirens in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. He began his role with the Sirens in 2023. Before this, Daoust had an extensive career in various roles. He served as an assistant coach for the Université de Montréal's women’s hockey program from 2010 to 2016, winning two national championships. He also worked as an assistant coach for Les Canadiennes de Montreal in the Canadian Women's Hockey League.

Daoust transitioned to the Val-d'Or Foreurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he was the general manager from 2016 to 2023, leading the team to the President's Cup finals in 2021. He was let go in February 2023 after several disappointing seasons. Daoust declined an offer from an NHL team to work in player development, instead taking on the role of general manager for the New York Sirens.

New York Sirens Captain

According to PWHL, Micah Arielle Zandee-Hart is the captain of the New York Sirens in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). She was born on January 13, 1997, in Saanichton, BC.

Zandee-Hart has served as captain for Canada’s U18 team and co-captain at Cornell University, where she became the second sophomore in the program’s history to wear the ‘C’. Additionally, Zandee-Hart was voted as a leader by her teammates during her time in the PWHPA.

Internationally, Zandee-Hart made history by becoming the first player from her province (BC) to represent Canada’s National Women’s Team at the Olympics, winning a gold medal in 2022. She also has three World Championship medals (one gold, one silver, and one bronze) and has accumulated several accolades at the U18 and U22 levels.

Her collegiate career at Cornell University saw her producing at a point-per-game rate as a senior, finishing fourth in the nation for scoring among defenders. In the 2024 PWHL season, Zandee-Hart has played 19 games, recording three assists and accumulating three points with 10 penalty minutes.

New York Sirens Head Coaches year by year

According to therinklive, Howie Draper was the inaugural head coach of the New York Sirens in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). He assumed the position in September 2023. However, due to the team finishing last in the 2024 season, with only five regulation wins, Draper mutually parted ways with the organization in May 2024. In 2024, Greg Fargo was named the head coach of the New York Sirens in June 2024 after the team rebranded from the initial name under Draper.
