The Anaheim Ducks will also pick twice, third overall and again 31st, thanks to the Edmonton Oilers pick. The Calgary Flames pick ninth overall and 28th overall from the Vancouver Canucks, who otherwise do not have a first-round selection in 2024.

The Montreal Canadiens pick fifth and 26th after a trade with the Winnipeg Jets. The Chicago Blackhawks pick second overall and 18th overall, as they own the New York Islanders' pick.

Finally, the San Jose Sharks have the best draft capital of anyone in the first round. They pick first overall but again 14th because of the trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Two top-15 picks are valuable enough, but even more so when one of them is the top selection.
