Fans reacted as the Montreal Canadiens suffered an embarrassing 8-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken at home on Tuesday night. The loss dropped the Habs to 4-5-1 on the season while Seattle improved to 5-4-1.
Josh Anderson and Cole Caufield scored for the Canadiens. Brandon Montour scored three goals for the Kraken, while Jaden Schwartz, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Jamie Oleksiak, Ryker Evans and Eeli Tolvanen rounded out the scoring. Joey Daccord earned the win in net for Seattle with 28 saves.
Fans on social media were furious with the Canadiens' lackluster performance, with one tweeting:
"Absolutely pathetic showing. Again. There's no other words. Pathetic."

Sam Montembeault was pulled early in the second after allowing five goals on 10 shots. His replacement Cayden Primeau, stopped 10 of 13 shots faced.

The Kraken swiftly took the lead within 25 seconds through Jamie Oleksiak. Seattle maintained their momentum in the period by scoring through Ryker Evans, Jaden Schwartz and Oliver Bjorkstrand to secure a commanding four-goal lead within 10 minutes.
The Montreal Canadiens scored late in the first period courtesy of Cole Caufield. In the second period, Brandon Montour netted twice, one of them on a power play, as the Krakens led 6–1. Montour capped off his hat-trick in the third period. Eeli Tolvanen and Josh Anderson traded goals late in the third to make it 8-2.
The Montreal Canadiens next face the Washington Capitals on the road on Thursday.
