Fans reacted as the Boston Bruins handed the Colorado Avalanche their fourth straight loss to start the season, winning 4-3 on Wednesday night. The loss dropped the Avs to 0-4-0, while the Bruins improved to 3-2-0.

Hampus Lindholm, Charlie Coyle, Cole Koepke, David Pastrnak and John Beecher scored for Boston in the win. Meanwhile, Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen and Ross Colton were the goalscorers for Colorado.

Joonas Korpisalo made 21 saves for the Bruins, while Avs netminder Alexandar Georgiev stopped 20 shots in the losing effort.

The Avalanche fans took to social media after the game to vent their frustration. One tweeted:

"Bednar is an idiot if he starts Fourgiev next game," suggesting HC Jared Bednar to make a change in goal.

Another wrote:

"Will we ever win?"

Here are some more fan reactions:

"Maybe the avalanche should try NOT giving up 4+ goals per game. I'm not an expert or anything so take that with a grain of salt," one fan wrote on X.
"Yikes! We go from 2022 Stanley Cup Champions to the worst record in the NHL 3 years later," another fan wrote.
"Didn't even watch thinking I was bad luck. Evidently not. This team needs Leaders, accountability," a user commented.
"Only 2 teams have started the season 0-4-0 since 2004; they both missed the playoffs. We're cooked," another user wrote.

The Avalanche will look to get their first win of the season on Friday when they host the Anaheim Ducks, while the Boston Bruins next face the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday.

Game Recap: The Avalanche 5-3 loss against the Boston Bruins

Cole Koepke scored the opening goal for the Boston Bruins in the middle of the period with a redirected shot.

Ross Colton promptly responded for Colorado by equalizing at 1-1 with a power play goal. However, the Bruins reclaimed the lead with another power play goal from Charlie Coyle.

“They’re winning the mental side of the battle on us,” Bruins HC Jim Montgomery said post game.Yup, Pastrnak got hit and I love what Pav did (when he) went in and defended him. But the penalties after that? I mean it’s just not disciplined. It’s all four games that we take at least four minors.
"Can’t win hockey games that way," he added.

In the second period, Boston extended their lead to 4-1 with goals from David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm 13 seconds apart. Both came on the power play as penalties hurt the Avalanche in the middle frame. Cale Makar got one back for Colorado to make it 4-2 with his own power play tally.

Early in the third period, Mikko Rantanen pulled the Avs within one with his power play goal off a feed from Makar. But despite the comeback attempt, John Beecher sealed the 5-3 win for the Boston Bruins with an empty net goal late in regulation.
