The Montreal Canadiens picked up an impressive 4-0 road win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday afternoon at Amerant Bank Arena. To beat the defending Stanley Cup champions in such a convincing fashion is surely to be a welcomed late Christmas present for Habs fans.
23-year-old, fifth-round pick from 2020, Jakub Dobes, made his NHL debut as Montreal's starting goaltender. He was perfect, making 34 saves in a memorable first-career NHL start. Kirby Dach also played a key role in the victory, scoring just his third and fourth goals of the season.
Canadiens fans were thrilled with the team's performance and shared that enthusiasm on X.
"Absolutely our best game of the season so far, literally everyone played super well what a game," one fan said.

Canadiens will look to continue their recent winning ways tomorrow in Tampa Bay
Today's win over the Florida Panthers marks Montreal's fourth win in their last five games. For what has been a very tough season, the Canadiens have begun to put together a strong stretch of games to remain in the playoff hunt.
The Habs now have 33 points with a record of 15-17-3. They sit just five points behind the Ottawa Senators for the final wildcard position in the Eastern Conference. Five other teams are in front of them, battling for the same spot. Either way, it's been promising to see that the Canadiens have not quit on the season, even throughout their struggles.
Montreal will tackle the second half of their back-to-back games in the sunshine state tomorrow afternoon in Tampa Bay against the Lightning. The puck drops at 5 p.m. ET at Amalie Arena.
