The Pittsburgh Penguins reassigned goaltender Tristan Jarry to their AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Jarry has struggled this season, posting an 8-8-4 record, a 3.31 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage. These numbers have added pressure to the Penguins, who are fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

During Pittsburgh's seven-game road trip, rookie Joel Blomqvist will now share goaltending duties with Alex Nedeljkovic. The team posted on X (formerly Twitter):

"Goaltender Joel Blomqvist has been recalled from @WBSPenguins (AHL). Goaltender Tristan Jarry has been re-assigned to WBS."

NHL fans reacted quickly to Tristan Jarry's news on X (formerly Twitter), sharing their opinions.

"He better stay down there," One fan commented, showing frustration with Jarry’s performance.
"Are we surprised about this?" Another wrote, reflecting on ongoing concerns about his recent struggles.
"Jarry is an AHL goalie and might always be. He unironically performs on a different level down there so hopefully he’ll continue to do so." a fan shared.

Jarry’s reassignment signals Pittsburgh’s effort to improve their goaltending as the team approaches a critical stretch of the season. Here are some more reactions from fans:

"I hope Blomqvist does well. I think it should’ve been Ned to go through waivers but either way let’s hope Blomqvist kills it." a fan said.
"You knew no one was going to bite on Jarry at that salary. He wasn't and isn't worth it." another fan said.
'"Idk if Blom can be the answer with the same defence in front of him Jarry had, but by god ANYONE will be better then that bum was" a fan said.

Tristan Jarry lost his last game before getting placed on waivers

Chandler Stephenson scored first for Seattle with a shorthanded goal at 2:12 of the first period. Penguins’s Philip Tomasino tied it at 9:19 by pushing the puck in near the crease. Bryan Rust gave Pittsburgh a 2-1 lead in the second period with a wrist shot during a delayed penalty.

In the third, Jamie Oleksiak tied the game at 8:04 with a wrist shot. Eeli Tolvanen quickly followed with a tap-in goal at 8:54. Kaapo Kakko added an empty-net goal at 18:57 to secure Seattle’s win.

Tristan Jarry stopped 14 of 17 shots, continuing his struggles this season. The Penguins (18-20-8) have lost three straight games and face challenges in maintaining playoff hopes.
