NHL fans are buzzing with debate over which Central Division team made the biggest strides this offseason.
A poll by NHL Network on X/Twitter ignited discussions across social media platforms, with supporters passionately arguing for their picks.
One fan commented:
"The Blackhawks and Nashville," drawing attention to these two teams' offseason moves.
The Chicago Blackhawks, despite finishing last in the division last season, made waves by adding Tyler Bertuzzi, T.J. Brodie, Joey Anderson and Pat Maroon.
Meanwhile, the Nashville Predators have been active in free agency and trades drafting Veteran Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault (a Conn Smythe winner the year before), Brady Skjei and Scott Wedgewood.
Another fan pointed out:
"Utah, simply by getting outta Arizona. That's gotta be a huge improvement right there."
This refers to the relocation of the Arizona Coyotes to Salt Lake City, Utah, marking a significant change for the franchise.
Here are some more fan reactions to the poll on X:
"Nashville. Dallas got worse and Colorado remained even doing what was necessary but an entire year with proper 2c production is welcomed and should make a big impact," one fan commented.
"For everyone saying Nashville are just looking at it on paper, the team that improved is Chicago without a doubt about it," another fan wrote.
"As a Dallas fan, the only correct answer is Nashville. They’re scary good on paper now. Going to be tough this season," one fan said.
"Easily Utah- leaving the dumpster fire that was Arizona tops it all," another fan said.
As teams finalize their rosters for the upcoming season, fans continue to speculate on which Central Division squad will see the biggest improvement.
NHL analyst Bruce Boudreau on which Central Division team improved this offseason
Last week, Bruce Boudreau pointed to the Predators as making key acquisitions to bolster an already strong roster (via NHL Network):
“Well, I think when you look at it, pretty well free agency is done now. Teams have sort of got everything together in August.” Boudreau said.
He also noted the Predators' impressive 17-game point streak last season.
While acknowledging that the Dallas Stars also retooled, Boudreau questioned:
“Are they as good on defense as the year before? We don’t know.’ I don’t think they are.”
Boudreau summed up that although Nashville was already a playoff contender, the smart pickups they made this summer bolstered a roster that was already among the NHL's elite last season.
