On Wednesday, 10-time Grammy Award winner Bob Dylan shared a chance encounter he had with a Buffalo Sabres player at a hotel in Prague, Czechia. However, Dylan did not disclose the Sabres player’s identity.
Dylan revealed that during their interaction, the Sabres player had made him an offer.
“I ran into one of the Buffalo Sabres in the elevator at the Prague hotel. They were in town to play the New Jersey Devils. He invited me to the game but I was performing that night.”
The Buffalo Sabres were in Prague to take on the New Jersey Devils in the NHL Global Series on Oct. 4 and 5. Dylan, coincidentally, happened to be performing in Prague during that weekend. Unfortunately for music fans, Dylan passed on the opportunity to catch live NHL action.
Two injured Buffalo Sabres could return to the ice for the home opener
After losing both games of their Global Series matchup against the Devils, the Sabres could get a huge boost with the return of injured wingers JJ Peterka and Zach Benson.
Both players returned to the ice for Wednesday’s practice. While the two are still listed on the injury report, they will be reevaluated following Thursday’s skate.
According to WIVB4, if Peterka and Benson feel comfortable, they could get the green light against the Los Angeles Kings at the Key Bank Center.
Peterka suffered a concussion during the first match of the Global Series against the New Jersey Devils. Devils’ defenseman Brendan Dillon hit Peterka, knocking him out of the game. Peterka did not play as a precaution.
As for Benson, he was scratched for the second leg of the Global Series due to a lower-body injury. Apparently, the injury has healed enough for Benson to resume skating. If all goes well, Benson could return to the Sabres’ second line.
On a down note, veteran forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel is expected to miss three weeks with a lower-body injury. The injury took place during the Sabres’ season opener.
The club moved Aube-Kubel to the injured reserve, clearing the way for the Sabres to add Kiri Kulich. Kulich could be taking Aube-Kubel’s place while he’s on the shelf.
Kulich is a former first-round pick from 2022. The Sabres took Kulich 28th overall. Last season, Kulich appeared in 57 games for the Rochester Americans, scoring 27 goals and 45 points.
