Drake Batherson scored two goals and had one assist in the Ottawa Senators' win. This victory handed Tampa their first loss of the season. Goalie Anton Forsberg made 25 saves, stepping in for the injured Linus Ullmark.
Batherson scored on a power play, and Josh Norris made it 2-0. Nikita Kucherov responded for Tampa, cutting the lead to 2-1. Nicholas Paul tied the game 2-2 before Batherson scored again.
Brady Tkachuk broke the tie late in the second period. Jake Sanderson and Claude Giroux each added two assists. Noah Gregor scored a short-handed goal to extend the lead to 5-3.
