On July 1, Steven Stamkos joined the Nashville Predators after 16 years with the Tampa Bay Lightning. On Wednesday, he shared a touching moment from his family life.
On X (formerly Twitter), Steven Stamkos posted pictures of his sons, Carter and Chase, donning their father’s new number 91 Predators jerseys. They also had Gnash toys in the form of plushies and mini hockey sticks with them.

A veteran forward from Tampa Bay, Steven Stamkos signed a four-year, $32 million deal. Stamkos wishes to join Nashville's winning culture and family-friendly city.
“We’re so excited to be part of this amazing franchise,” Stamkos said. “We saw what happened today with some of the other signings. A great day to be a Nashville Predators fan. Very, very excited to be part of that.”
Jonathan Marchessault, who excelled with the Vegas Golden Knights, signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract. As a Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Marchessault adds playoff expertise and offensive skill to Nashville's roster alongside Stamkos.
Steven Stamkos praised Nashville's strong goaltending and defense, eager to add to their success.
“I’ve been on championship-winning teams in the past in Tampa,” Stamkos said (via NHL.com). “You see those teams that have won recently, there’s always a mix of a really good goaltender, an elite defenseman and some elite forwards. Even before today with the signings, Nashville checked those boxes.
The Predators filled a crucial spot by signing Brady Skjei to a seven-year, $49 million deal.
“It's huge because it's a statement, I think, for the rest of the League that these players will come to Nashville,” Predators' GM Barry Trotz said (via NHL.com). “These players see what we're doing with our franchise. We have lots to offer, and we're very determined to win. We're committed to that. That's what players want.”
In goal, Nashville secured Scott Wedgewood to bolster their goaltending depth behind Juuse Saros, signing him to a two-year, $3 million contract.
