Brady Tkachuk had an injury scare in the game against Buffalo Sabres during NHL Frozen Frenzy.
IIn the last minute of the second period, Brady Tkachuk came from behind the Sabres goal and landed a backcheck on Peyton Krebs. Right after the check, Tkachuk threw his stick onto the ice and grasped his right shoulder.
Tkachuk looked to be in immense pain as he skated off the ice and into the Senators' locker room.
Brady Tkachuk returned for third period
Sens fans at the game and at home breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Brady Tkachuk return for the start of the third period.
Tkachuk looked comfortable as he skated back onto the ice for the Senators for the remainder of the game.
In the post-game interview, head coach Smith said Brady Tkachuk's injury was an elbow stinger.
Senators almost completed an impressive comeback
Buffalo Sabres dominated the Senators in the offensive zone. Jeff Skinner and Zemgus Girgensons scored the Sabres' first two goals of the game in the first period.
Skinner scored his second and Sabres' third early in the second. Jakob Chychrun got one back for the Sens only to have Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson scored Sabres fourth and fifth goals respectively.
The Senators came back into the game with three goals in three minutes. Vladimir Tarasenko, Josh Norris and Mathieu Joseph scored to put the Sens one goal away from equalizing at 5-4.
With under a minute left, the Sens emptied their nets in hopes of scoring with an extra man on the ice. Tage Thompson then scored the game winner at 19:37 into an empty Sens goal to seal the victory.
Brady Tkachuk likely facing one-game suspension
The Senators captain was involved in a fight with Sabres' Alex Tuch during the last minutes of the third period.

According to NHL rule 46.21, Tkachuk may serve a one-game suspension for receiving an instigator penalty in the last 5 minutes of regulation.
Head coach D.J. Smith disclosed the team will appeal to reverse the suspension and said:
"I know what the rule's for, at the end when you send guys out. I don't see that situation at all. I see a guy that went out of his way to hit him dirty and he sticks up for himself. The league will make that call and let us know, but I see that not what the rule is intended for."
