The Boston Bruins go on the road to play the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EDT. Ahead of the Bruins' road game, here is their projected lineup.
Predicted Bruins lineup
Forwards
- Pavel Zacha - Elias Lindholm - David Pastrnak
- Brad Marchand - Charlie Coyle - Morgan Geekie
- Riley Tufte - Matthew Poitras - Trent Frederic
- John Beecher - Mark Kastelic - Cole Koepke
The Bruins have been using mostly the same forward lines to begin the year. However, one change is that Riley Tufte is in the lineup, while Justin Brazeau will be out.
Boston coach Jim Montgomery has been frustrated with the Bruins' top-six forwards not producing.
"Really happy with the bottom six, and the fourth line has been very, very impressive. They're just doing their role. Guys in the top six aren't doing their role," Montgomery said, via Hockey News.
To begin the season, Zacha and Marchand have two points through four games, while Coyle and Geekie are pointless.
Defenseman
- Mason Lohrei - Charlie McAvoy
- Hampus Lindholm - Brandon Carlo
- Nikita Zadorov - Andrew Peeke
Boston has been trying to find chemistry with the first and third pairings on defense. Nikita Zadorov flips with Mason Lohrei as getting Charlie McAvoy going is key to the Bruins' success.
Goalies
- Jeremy Swayman
- Joonas Korpisalo
Jeremy Swayman will get the start on Wednesday, as he is the Bruins' starting goalie. This season, Swayman is 2-1 with a 2.98 GAA and a .893 SV% as he has struggled a bit, but that was expected after he didn't play at all during training camp or preseason due to his contract holdout.
