Police footage from the immediate aftermath of the recent Paul Bissonnette restaurant brawl has gone viral. Police were attempting to nail down who the primary aggressor was in speaking with Henry Mesker, a suspect at the time. However, Mesker's description of the former hockey player is making the rounds due to its complementary nature towards Bissonnette.
"If you saw this guy and me fighting in a parking lot, you'd say, 'He's going to beat the f**k out of him,'" Mesker said. "He's got not a lick of fat on him. He's f*****g shirtless, he's got giant tattoos, built like Dwayne the Rock Johnson."
Bissonnette is a former NHL player, and he was known for fighting during his time in the league. That skill evidently didn't fade in retirement, as Mesker said there was really no comparison between himself and Bissonnette. It wasn't a one-on-one fight, but Mesker said there's no way he could have stood his ground against the former Pittsburgh Penguins player by himself.
Bissonnette alleged that seven men fought him after he stepped in to help management at a restaurant he frequents in Scottsdale, Arizona. The hockey analyst claimed they were the aggressors, but the police had been attempting to find out all the facts from everyone.
Paul Bissonnette attacker indicted
Paul Bissonnette was involved in an all-out brawl a few weeks ago. The former hockey star saw a restaurant manager being harassed by a group of drunk patrons. He stepped in to tell them they needed to stop or there might be issues.
The issues ensued from there when, according to Bissonnette, the group started attacking. One of the men, Sean Michael Daley, was charged officially for “engaging in violent and disruptive behavior and causing injury,” while Bissonnette's “capacity to resist was impaired,” according to Arizona Sports.
The worst charge is for aggravated assault. It's a class six felony, the lowest such charge. The rest of the attackers were only charged at the county level, so their penalties were much lighter. Most got misdemeanors that have since been dismissed. Daley also got hit with a forgery charge and was indicted on Tuesday.
