Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard got into a fight with St. Louis Blues forward Zach Bolduc during their preseason game on Saturday. Bedard threw punches at Bolduc and he fought back, which eventually sparked an all-out scrum between the two teams.
The clip of the fight has been making rounds on the internet and fans were quick to react to it on X. Some even took subtle jabs at the player in the comments.
Following are some fan reactions from X/Twitter:
“Can’t produce points so he has to fight.”

“Connor Bedard just got the "A" stitched to his sweater tonight and he's already throwing down with Zach Bolduc. And then the rest of the team on each side joins in on the fight because yes. Preseason hockey, baby,” commented another user.
Some fans praised the youngster’s toughness. They lauded the player’s willingness to stand up for himself and his teammates, while some even called him the “prince.”
“Bedard lowkey a dawg.”
“They ain't fuckin with Bedard this season!” wrote one user.
“Our prince!!” commented one fan.
Coach Luke Richardson lauds Connor Bedard’s mentality
After the game, Chicago Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson expressed that he was a bit concerned about the possibility of Connor Bedard getting injured when he got involved in the scrum late in the game.
"Connor needs to stay out of that stuff if he could. But I like the thought process of it and his mentality that he’s not going to take anything from anybody."
Connor Bedard also spoke to the media after the game. He mentioned that the team wanted to finish the preseason on a positive note by playing the right way and that they saw results when they did things correctly.
"We were pretty frustrated with how preseason has gone so far,” Bedard said. “No matter what it is, losing isn't fun. We wanted to end it off on a good note and try to do the right things as much as we could. We could see the success when we did that." [H/T Ben Pope]
The Blackhawks beat the Blues 6-2 on the night. Despite the win, the Hawks wrapped up their preseason with a 1-4-1 record and will now look ahead to their season opener in Utah.
