Montreal Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis repeatedly used the same statement to answer different questions in a post-game interview following the Habs' 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday night.

In the brief one-minute and 10-second press conference, St. Louis was asked six questions by reporters. His response to each question, whether in English or French, was:

"I loved our game tonight, but I'm not going to talk about the refs."

The officiating during the game was widely criticized, with many missed calls that went against both teams. There were several plays that could have been penalties for the Rangers players, but referees Kelly Sutherland and Francis Charron didn't flag them.

One of the blatant misses was during the third period when Joel Armia was tripped by Will Cuylle of the Rangers, enabling Cuylle to find Kappo Kakko who scored the game-winning goal with 24 seconds left.

Earlier in the game, a cross-check from Chris Kreider on Josh Anderson also went uncalled. However, the refs handed out some questionable penalties as well, including a roughing call on Anderson minutes after he had complained about the missed call on Kreider.

The most confusing moment was one where Kirby Dach pushed Mika Zibanejad to Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick, leading to an 11-player scrum.

The refs thought about it for almost 10 minutes before coming up with offsetting penalties, with two roughing penalties given to rookie Juraj Slafkovsky. The end result was a power play for New York, leaving everyone scratching their heads.

St. Louis' repetitive use of the same non-answer statement made it clear that he had plenty to say but opted not to elaborate.

Canadiens' captain Nick Suzuki on loss to the Rangers

After the game, Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki expressed his disappointment in the result.

"I thought we deserved better," Suzuki said. "I thought we played better than them. It's a tough way to end a game that way, giving up a goal that late."

Suzuki pointed to special teams as the difference-maker in the game.

"Special teams was the big difference. We've done well in those situations so far this season. We'll clean it up tomorrow."

The loss drops Montreal's record to 8-12-3 on the season. Next, the Canadiens head to Boston to take on division rivals Bruins on Sunday.
