Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl clinch NHL records after Oilers' Game 4 victory

In the Edmonton Oilers' impressive 5-2 comeback win in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, the dynamic duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl set new NHL records.

McDavid's three-point performance in the matchup propelled him to elite company, making him just the third player – alongside Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux – to achieve consecutive 160-point seasons, including the playoffs.

On the other hand, Leon Draisaitl's goal in the same contest earned him a spot among the list of Oilers legends. He joined the exclusive group of Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Mark Messier and Esa Tikkanen as players who have scored back-to-back 10-plus postseason goals in franchise history.

The accomplishments underscore Connor McDavid and Draisaitl's ability and their impact during crucial playoff moments, cementing their places among the NHL's elite players.

In addition, the NHL's top scorers in the playoffs showcase a strong presence from the Oilers' offense in the playoffs. McDavid leads the pack with 28 points, closely followed by Draisaitl with 26 points and Evan Bouchard securing the third spot with 23 points.

At 5:29, they doubled their advantage when Esa Lindell scored a wrist shot from the point that deflected off Darnell Nurse into the back of the net.

After falling behind 2-0, the Oilers found their groove and got into the game, rooting for an incredible comeback. Ryan McLeod cut the Stars' lead to 2-1 before Evan Bouchard's goal off Connor McDavid's rebound tied it 2-2 before heading into the second period.

Coming into the second period, Mattias Janmark scored a short-handed goal to put the Oilers on top for the first time in the matchup with a 3-2 scoreline at 14:31. Just 51 seconds later, Leon Draisaitl made it 4-0 for the Oilers after scoring on Zach Hyman's assist.
