The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-1 on Saturday in Denver, improving their record to 13-9-2. Partners of captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl—Lauren Kyle and Celeste Desjardins—were in attendance at Ball Arena to witness the win.

Kyle shared pictures of the evening on her Instagram stories, including one that showed a packed arena. The scoreboard showed the Oilers leading the Avalanche 3-1 in the third period.

Colorado took the early lead, with Nikolai Kovalenko netting a power-play goal in the first period. The goal ended Edmonton's streak of killing 17 straight penalties over eight games.

Edmonton tied it later in the first when Kasperi Kapanen scored his first goal with the team, set up by a pass from captain Connor McDavid for an easy tap-in.

The game-winning goal came six minutes into the second period when Vasily Podkolzin deflected a shot for his third goal in as many games. The team widened the gap in the third period with Brett Kulak’s fifth goal of the season and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ empty-netter, sealing the 4-1 victory.

Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle encouraged fans to support the Oilers’ 50/50 charity raffle

Lauren Kyle also posted a reminder on her Instagram stories about the Edmonton Oilers' 50/50 raffle on Saturday. The raffle supports the Ben Shelter Foundation and the Kids with Cancer Society, honoring the memory of a young superfan Ben Stelter, who passed away in 2022 from brain cancer.

“Just a reminder that the Edmonton Oilers 50/50 running from November 29 - December 7th is in support of the @benstelterfoundation & @kwcsyeg! Join the fight for a cure!,” Kyle wrote in the caption. “Missing you Ben! Get your tickets!!”

Last week, during Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Rogers Place, Connor McDavid also honored Ben by dedicating his game to the Stelter family. He later met Ben’s parents in the locker room. The event included a ceremonial puck drop by children battling cancer, and the 50/50 jackpot surpassing $800,000, with an additional bonus draw nearing $500,000.
