After the Edmonton Oilers' 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, Connor McDavid's fiancee, Lauren Kyle, shared her excitement on Instagram. In the story, she and Rachel Gagner, the wife of Sam Gagner, were seen cheering for the Oilers all the way from London.

The story even included a selfie of Lauren watching the game on her laptop and a subsequent photo capturing the screen during the game.

Edmonton was down 2-0 midway through the first period without registering a single shot on goal.

Coach Kris Knoblauch admitted the early performance looked bleak, but the Oilers managed to turn things around with a strong pushback.

“Didn’t look very good,” Knoblauch said.

By the end of the first period, Edmonton tied the game, and it didn't relent under the Stars' pressure. The Oilers capitalized on their momentum, with Mattias Janmark and Leon Draisaitl scoring within 51 seconds in the second period.

Janmark’s goal came from a short-handed breakaway, and Draisaitl followed quickly with his 10th goal of the postseason.

Ryan McLeod, Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm also found the back of the net, with Ekholm's empty-netter late in the third period sealing the game. Connor McDavid contributed with two assists, and goalie Stuart Skinner made 20 saves to secure the win.

After early goals from Dallas’ Wyatt Johnston and Esa Lindell, the Stars couldn’t maintain their lead. The Oilers' penalty kill unit was effective, particularly in the closing stages of the game when they thwarted the Stars’ power play.
