Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle gives sneak-peek into her upcoming new bar in Edmonton

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren posted an update about her new business venture on Instagram. She shared short videos and photos of the construction work at the Canada Permanent Building in downtown Edmonton.

Lauren’s business interests include the sports apparel brand Sports Club Atelier and the interior design firm Kyle & Co. She announced the launch of her latest venture, Bar Trove and Trove Living, on Jan. 7. On Saturday, she showed her followers the progress her team was making in a series of stories.

The third post showed Lauren with her arms up as she posed for the camera. A portion of the floor has been marked in blue tape, to show where the bar will be.

Lauren had said that her upcoming venture will consist of Bar Trove, a bar and small plate restaurant on the main floor, and Trove Living, a luxury furniture and homeware showroom on the upper two floors.

“I just fell in love with the bones and the architecture, and I loved the kind of European feel to it,” Lauren said on Jan. 16, via the Edmonton Journal.

Lauren added that she was looking to utilize the best available local products to launch a French-inspired menu for the bar. She also plans to combine her various interests into a holistic experience.

Lauren Kyle has been regularly sharing updates about how the bar and furniture showroom is taking shape. On Wednesday, she posted two hiring alerts for a bartender and server.

The official Instagram account of her new businesses also posted a short reel highlighting the construction work and renovations on Tuesday.

“We’re beyond excited to introduce Trove Living, a curated furniture showroom showcasing the most exclusive designs, alongside Bar Trove, where you’ll indulge in fine wines and expertly crafted cocktails. Opening Spring 2025!” the caption read.

Lauren and her partner Brittany Schulz announced that they are aiming to feature European furniture brands that are not readily available in the region through Trove Living.

Lauren teased the launch of her latest venture on Jan. 6, just a few weeks after the launch of her sportswear brand.
