Connor McDavid's wife Lauren Kyle shares updates on work in progress at the Canada Permanent Building
Lauren Kyle is opening her bar and furniture showroom in the historic Canada Permanent Building in downtown Edmonton.
Earlier this month, Connor McDavid''s wife announced her bar, Bar Trove, which will feature a French-inspired menu with a focus on local ingredients and a cocktail list curated by a consultant from Toronto.
The second floor of the building will house Trove Living, a luxury furniture showroom with underrepresented European furniture brands, which Kyle is launching with her business partner Brittany Schulz.
On Thursday, Kyle shared updates on her Instagram stories, showing the progress of construction including wall demolition and electrical preparations in the Canada Permanent Building.
Speaking about her decision to choose the Canada Permanent Building, Connor McDavid's wife said that it's the architecture and European vibes of the space that made it appealing to her. She also spoke about the business market in downtown Edmonton.
“Since I first was here about eight years ago or nine years ago, when Connor and I first started dating, there’s been a lot of change to Downtown, and I think there’s still a lot of work to do. But I think there’s people willing to invest and revitalize it,” Lauren Kyle said. [H/T Edmonton Journal]
Lauren also mentioned that she wants to help make Edmonton more exciting by bringing fresh, new ideas to the city. She shared that they are planning to open the new space in early April this year.
