Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid has been a long-time teammate with forward Connor Brown. The two stars had first played together during their time in the OHL with the Erie Otters.
McDavid and Brown celebrate their birthdays on Jan. 13 and 14, respectively. Apparently, the two of them had a joint celebration this weekend with a special cake. McDavid's wife, Lauren Kyle, shared a couple of snaps on her Instagram stories from the evening of Brown's 31st birthday.
The first picture showed black metallic balloons spelling out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNORS" arranged against vertical wooden slats. The next story featured a blue birthday cake adorned with edible images of Connor Brown and Connor McDavid during their Erie Otters days and other moments from their hockey careers.

The cake was decorated with gold accents and matching blue frosting. Alongside the cake, there was a rectangular box of colorful macarons tied with a cream-colored ribbon. Lauren tagged Connor Brown’s wife, Madison Brown, in her stories.

Earlier on Saturday, Lauren Kyle shared updates on her upcoming projects through Instagram stories. Kyle is working on launching a bar and restaurant, Bar Trove, alongside a luxury furniture showroom, Trove Living, in Edmonton.
In her stories, Kyle showed a few natural wines and gluten-free beers that could be featured at Bar Trove. The wines included Le Puy Emilien 2020, Beurer Riesling Trocken 2022 and Raspa Moscatel y Doradilla 2022, with prices ranging between $20 and $67.
“Testing out natural wines tonight for @bartroveca,” Lauren Kyle captioned the story.
Les Vins Pirouettes, 2022 Snafu and Parajes del Valle Maceración Macabeo Ecológico were also featured in the pictures. For gluten-free beer, she featured Whistler Brewing Co. Forager Gluten Free Lager, priced at $16.49 for a six-pack.
Construction for Bar Trove is ongoing on the main floor of the historic Canada Permanent Building in downtown Edmonton. The bar will offer a French-inspired menu with locally sourced ingredients and a curated cocktail list designed by a Toronto consultant.
On the building's second floor, Kyle plans to open Trove Living, a furniture showroom featuring unique European brands. She is partnering with Brittany Schulz to offer an integrated furniture and design service.
Kyle, who has been in Edmonton for nearly a decade, is looking to contribute to the downtown area's revitalization. Bar Trove is expected to open in early April.
