NHL fans were surprised when Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs fought during a Buffalo Sabres practice. B/R Open Ice tweeted:

"Huge open ice hip check during Sabres practice led to a tilt between Peyton Krebs and Rasmus Dahlin."

Tensions were high with the Sabres as Dahlin hit Krebs low with a hip check. Krebs did not like the hit, so both players dropped their gloves. Teammates quickly jumped in to break up the fight, according to Lance Lysowski from The Buffalo News.

Dahlin and Krebs have only one assist each in four games this season.

Fans reacted to the fight on X and shared their opinions.

"Breaking news… Dahlin might want out of Buffalo," one fan tweeted.
"Feel like something had to lead up to that, Dahlin was up and swinging immediately after throwing that hit," a fan tweeted.
"Skating through the middle with your head down… practice like you play. Dahlin just wants to keep his guys ready I’m sure he didn’t hit him as hard as Radko Gudas would," another tweeted.
"Hip check from the captain in practice. I love it. Sabres 10 game win streak in bound," a fan tweeted.
"Dahlin throwing a questionable hit in practice and then immediately throwing hands is exactly what you want to see out of your captain, right?" Another tweeted.
"Who the fuck throws a low hip in practice," one fan tweeted.

This incident shows the pressure on the Sabres and their players to improve their game.

More on the Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs's fight

On Monday, the Buffalo Sabres showed that practices can get intense. After starting the season 1-3-0, tensions rose during practice. The Sabres recently won 5-2 against the Florida Panthers.

Krebs explained the reason behind Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs's fight.

"I think (Rasmus) got bumped before, and then he evened up the score," Krebs told reporters, per The Hockey News. "I wouldn't read too much into that – just, we want competitive practice."

The Sabres have struggled to score, averaging just two goals per game. They are also 0-for-14 on power plays. Their next game is on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
