The Dallas Stars have signed 20-year-old WHL forward Chase Wheatcroft to a three-year entry-level contract. The news was announced by the Dallas Stars' general manager Jim Nill. The contract will come into commencement beginning the 2023-24 season.
Chase Wheatcroft is currently playing in the WHL for the Prince George Cougars. The 20-year-old forward has established himself as the second-best forward in the WHL as he sits second in the league in terms of points scored this season.
Wheatcroft has played in 65 games and has managed to accumulate 104 points with (47 goals and 57 assists) and is thirty points behind league leader Connor Bedard. With 47 goals, Wheatcroft is the third-highest goal scorer in the WHL this season, and also leads the leaderboards for the most power-play goals scored by a player this season with 22 goals. He is currently having a career-best season in his WHL career.
He was named the player of the month in February of this year, and during that month, the 20-year-old forward accumulated 28 points in 12 games with (12 goals and 16 assists).
Chase Wheatcroft made his WHL debut during the 2019-20 season and has represented Lethbridge and Winnipeg. He has played in 202 WHL games and has managed to collect 186 points with (78 goals and 108 assists). It will be interesting to see how the 20-year-old forward will shape his NHL career with the Dallas Stars.
