David Perron shared his thoughts after he was named in the NHL's Quarter Century team for the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. The left-winger's name featured in the 12-player roster of the Blues.

The NHL's Quarter Century Team was selected by a panel of experts that included broadcasters, former players, and local, national and NHL writers who have extensively covered the franchise.

Each team featured two six-player lineups: a First Team and a Second Team, consisting of three forwards, two defensemen, and a goalie. To be eligible, players must have suited up for the franchise after Jan. 1, 2000.

The 36-year-old Perron was named to the Second Team of the St. Louis Blues, joining David Backes, who played 15 seasons for the Blues, Ryan O'Reilly, 12-time All-Star Al MacInnis, Colton Parayko and goalie Brian Elliott. Perron took to X to express his gratitude, writing:

"It is an honor being on there with some of the best Blues ever! Thank you!"

David Perron's NHL career began when the St. Louis Blues drafted him in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut during the 2007-08 season and became a fan favorite. In his rookie season, Perron notched up 13 goals and 27 points in 62 games, earning a spot on the sophomore team at the NHL YoungStars Game.

Perron's first stint with the Blues lasted until 2013, when he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. However, he returned to St. Louis in 2016, signing a two-year, $7.5 million contract. During his second stint, Perron played a crucial role in the Blues' playoff run, although they eventually fell to the Nashville Predators.

Perron's time with the Blues was interrupted again when he was left unprotected and selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. Following a successful season with the Golden Knights, he returned to St. Louis for a third time, signing a four-year, $16 million contract.

This time, he played a key role in the St. Louis Blues' historic Stanley Cup win in 2019, marking the franchise's first championship.

The First Team of the NHL's Quarter Century team for the St. Louis Blues featured forwards including Alexander Steen, a Canadian-born Swedish left-winger who played 13 seasons for the Blues, and Vladimir Tarasenko, the right-winger with the most points by any Blues player in the past quarter century.

Tarasenko compiled 553 points (262 goals, 291 assists) in 644 games from the 2012-13 to the 2022-23 season. Rounding out the First Team are Keith Tkachuk, Alex Pietrangelo, Hart Memorial Trophy winner Chris Pronger and goalie Jordan Binnington, the Blues' all-time leader in wins with 155.

The Second Team featured David Backes, who played 15 seasons for the Blues, Ryan O'Reilly, David Perron, 12-time All-Star Al MacInnis, Colton Parayko and goalie Brian Elliott.
