Connor Bedard notched his 100th career NHL point during the Chicago Blackhawks' crushing 5-2 defeat against the Calgary Flames on Monday. The milestone makes the 19-year-old phenom just the 24th teenager in league history to reach 100 points.

However, in the locker room after the game, Bedard brushed off any excitement about his personal accomplishment. When asked about his thoughts on the 100-point mark, he responded:

"Right now, I couldn't care less, but yeah in a couple of days I will look at it a little bit differently but just frustrated right now."

The Blackhawks are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings and they've also dropped nine of their last 11 games.

"It's really frustrating," Bedard said. "We're competitive athletes and we take a lot of pride in our games, our group as a team and our fan base. It's been hard. It's been a lot of games to lose. It weighs on you. Yeah, I mean, just trying to find a way of it."

Connor Bedard scored his milestone point on a second-period power play goal, finding the back of the net early in the man advantage after Calgary's Martin Pospisil was assessed a major penalty for boarding.

When asked what went wrong, Bedard said:

"A lot of whacking up the boards or guys not being where guys are expecting to be when they're making a pass."

Connor Bedard's 100 points are made up of 34 goals and 66 assists.

Chicago Blackhawks' captain Nick Foligno on Connor Bedard reaching 100th career point milestone

Blackhawks' captain Nick Foligno expressed mixed emotions about Connor Bedard's 100th career NHL point:

"This isn't the start of a career I was hoping for him," Foligno said of Connor Bedard. "How can it not [bother him]? I can't imagine being that age and you just go home. I have a family, so I can kind of get from it. But he east and sleeps and breathes it."

Foligno emphasized that the team's struggles aren't Bedard's burden alone. He highlighted that they’ve beaten some really good teams before and emphasized it’s about having the mindset to keep doing it consistently.

Bedard and Co. will look to bounce back when they face the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday.
