NHL fans took to social media to express their amusement after United States President Joe Biden made a peculiar reference to the Philadelphia Eagles during the Las Vegas Golden Knights' White House visit. The incident, captured in a video shared by The Post Millennial, sparked a wave of reactions from hockey enthusiasts who found the comment both confusing and entertaining.
In the video, President Biden is heard saying to the Las Vegas Golden Knights,
"Don’t get the Philadelphia Eagles to leave and go because I’ll get divorced if that happens … It’s a long story."
The statement left many fans scratching their heads, with one fan bluntly expressing,
"He literally doesn't even know what sport this is that he's honoring."
Another fan seemed equally perplexed, simply responding with a succinct,
"What?"
Expressing a sentiment of embarrassment, one fan remarked:
"What a f***ing embarrassment."
A fan humorously highlighted the confusion in the room, stating:
"Look how confused everyone is.. Lmfao."
Criticism continued with a fan commenting on President Biden's overall demeanor, saying:
"What an embarrassment.... Dude doesn't even know the planet he's on and consistently sounds like an intoxicated driver who's been pulled over by cops."
Seattle Kraken's forward is unlikely for 2024 World Juniors
NHL Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright, despite remaining eligible, is not expected to participate in the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship for Canada. Kraken General Manager Ron Francis revealed that he has already discussed this with Hockey Canada.
Ron Francis said:
"I've already had conversations with Hockey Canada about that so they kind of know where I stand. For me he's kind of been there done that, so I don't see him being part of the World Juniors this year. He's actually up with us now."
Wright, at 19, served as Canada's captain at the 2023 World Juniors, contributing seven points (four goals, three assists) in seven games to secure the gold medal.
Francis underlined Wright's current role with the Kraken, indicating that he does not expect him to compete in the 2017 World Juniors, which will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from December 26 to January 5. Wright was recalled from the AHL's Coachella Valley on an emergency basis on Nov. 8 due to forward Jordan Eberle's leg injury. As of now, Wright has played two games with no points.
Despite his limited NHL experience, Wright's potential is evident. He was selected as the No. 4 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft by the Seattle Kraken.
