J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson's relationship does not appear to be improving. The noise and drama involving the rift between the Canucks' star forwards has continued to grow louder. It has come to the point where the team is reportedly listening to offers for both players.

The situation seems to have reached a place of no return and Miller or Pettersson may find a new home soon. It remains to be seen which player the Canucks will decide to part from but it hasn't stopped hockey fans and analysts from speculating on potential trade ideas and destinations.

Elliotte Friedman spoke about the Miller trade chatter during Friday's edition of "32 Thoughts: The Podcast," where he mentioned one team he believes should be targeting Miller.

"I didn't really look at how it would all work, but just thinking about it off the top of my head, especially after what we saw in person this week, Kyle would be Chicago," Friedman said (37:10). "But you know what? Like, if I'm if I'm Chicago, and that JT Miller thing is real, that's the guy I'm going after. And again, you've got to be willing to make a trade.
"You know, Chicago doesn't have a lot at the NHL level, but a lot of picks. They got a lot of picks. They got a lot of prospects. And then Vancouver can decide, do they want that and then do some other things. But if that's real, and I'm the Blackhawks, I am jumping all over that."

Although an intriguing idea from Friedman, it will be interesting to see whether Miller would be willing to play for a Chicago team that is in last place in the NHL.

J.T. Miller and the Canucks are playing shorthanded

The injury bug has hit the Vancouver Canucks hard this season. The Canucks are without superstar captain Quinn Hughes (undisclosed), star forward Elias Pettersson (undisclosed), defenseman Filip Hronek (lower-body) and top goaltender Thatcher Demko (back), who left Thursday's game in the second period.

Without four key players, the Canucks will continue to rely heavily on J.T. Miller. He has also missed time this season, having taken a leave of absence in November that sidelined him for 10 games. Since his return, he has recorded nine points (zero goals, nine assists). The assists are nice, but Vancouver will need him to start finding the back of the net with much of its firepower injured.

Miller and the shorthanded Vancouver Canucks are back in action on Friday against the Nashville Predators at Rogers Arena. The puck drops at 10 p.m. EST.
