Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella didn't hold back in criticizing the Boston Bruins following the Flyers' 4-3 overtime loss on Saturday night. Tortorella accused the Bruins players of embellishing calls and diving.

The Flyers were called for several tripping penalties throughout the game.

"Let me start: One thing I teach my team to do is not dive,"Tortorella said. "Maybe I should start teaching them that. The way this has gone here ... maybe I should teach them to dive."

There were two tripping calls on the Flyers in the third period, but a tripping penalty in the second period resulted in a Bruins power play goal.

The Bruins scored twice in the third to erase a two-goal Philadelphia lead and force overtime, where Boston completed its comeback win.

"That's one of the things we talk about as a team. We've got to play an honest game. There's no cheating, there's no embarrassing referees, you don't embarrass the referees. That went on here tonight, that's ridiculous. I'm proud of the way our team played," Tortorella added.

Matvei Michkov scored two goals for the Flyers in the loss, while Cam York added one. The Bruins received two goals from Trent Frederic, and one each from Brad Marchand and Pavel Zacha.

Goaltender Jeremy Swayman was solid for Boston, making 23 saves, while Flyers netminder Aleksei Kolosov stopped 27 shots in the overtime loss.

John Tortorella on Flyers fighting back in third period

Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella was pleased with his team's effort in fighting back during the third period against the Boston Bruins.

"It's never a question with me about our fight. That's a given within our room here," Tortorella said post-game.
“So, that's what keeps us afloat. That's the only way we're going to stay afloat in this leauge is that is the will and not willing to give it. That's in our room. And that's what I mean, I've talked about that nauseam as far as that locker room."

Even though the Flyers couldn't complete the comeback, John Tortorella was optimistic about the team's spirit and unwillingness to give up based on their push in the third period.

Next, the Flyers face the Utah Hockey Club on Sunday at home.
