Tonight, the Philadelphia Flyers will look to kick off the new year with a win after closing out 2024 with a 4-0 shutout win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. While the team is currently working to improve its standing in the Metropolitan Division, they'll face a tough test tonight in the Vegas Golden Knights, a team sitting atop the Pacific Division.

While Vegas is heading into tonight's game after a 3-2 loss to Montreal to wrap up 2024, the team had won nine of their last ten prior to that. Given that, Philly will have to be at their best tonight if they want to pick up their second straight win on the road.

Unfortunately for the team, they will likely be without netminder Samuel Ersson, who left Tuesday's game after the second period with an undisclosed injury. If Ersson winds up missing tonight's game, it could spell trouble for Philly.

Looking at the odds for tonight's Flyers vs Golden Knights game, as well as upcoming games on Philadelphia's schedule

Heading into tonight's game between the Flyers and the Golden Knights, Vegas is sitting as a pretty comfortable betting favorite, given how well they've played this season compared to Philadelphia.

With one of the best records in the NHL, Vegas is heading into tonight's game with -205 odds on DraftKings, while the Flyers are +170 underdogs. Meanwhile, on BallyBet, Vegas is a -215 favorite, while Philly is a +175 underdog.

This means that bettors on DraftKings will have to bet $205 on Vegas to win $100, while a $100 bet on the Flyers as the underdogs would win $170 if lines remain consistent.

Following tonight's game, the Flyers will head to Toronto to play the Maple Leafs on Sunday before then hosting Toronto next Tuesday for a rematch on their home ice.

From there, the team will host the Dallas Stars on Jan. 9, the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 11, and the Florida Panthers on Jan. 13 before hitting the road for a three-game stretch.
