NHL fans had a good laugh at the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche's social media beef. With the NHL in the offseason, their social media teams are looking to stay active and the Stars and Avalanche's admins decided to get into a friendly beef.
With the Olympics on, the Avalanche admin decided to ask the Stars admin what their favorite Olympic sport was. That caused Dallas to reply with a subtle jab.
Of course, Dallas eliminated Colorado in the playoffs; and in the OT winner, Matt Duchene celebrated by shooting an arrow and then throwing a punch.
The Avalanche quickly replied to Dallas with a jab.
After their interaction, NHL fans had fun responding to the back-and-forth.
"The Dallas Stars organization will never recover. Fold the franchise, it is over," a fan wrote.
"oh you ate that," another fan wrote.
Fans didn't stop there as some thought Dallas got the better of the interaction, while others thought Colorado's response was better.
"FOUL," a fan wrote.
"Hahahahaha smoked em," a fan added.
It was a fun moment between the Stars and Avalanche, and NHL fans had a good laugh about the interaction.
"That was mean," a fan wrote.
"We don’t have much to say, they just won the cup," a fan wrote.
With hockey in the offseason, the interaction between the Stars and Avalanche's social media account gave fans something to talk about.
Avalanche's captain planning to play next season
The Colorado Avalanche enters the 2024-25 NHL season with plenty of questions surrounding their roster.
Colorado's captain Gabriel Landeskog had a cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee, while Valeri Nichushkin is in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program and will miss the first couple of months of the season.
However, Landeskog spoke to the media in May and made it clear he expects to play hockey again this season.
"Between mid-September and the start of April," the Avalanche captain said, via NHL.com... "I just want to get healthy, get back to playing hockey, get back to being with my teammates and playing in front of our amazing fans."
Landeskog has not played since June 26, 2022.
The Avalanche, meanwhile, were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs last season by the Dallas Stars.
