A look at 2024 Hockey Hall of Fame Inductees

The list of the latest inductees to the Hockey Hall of Fame for the year 2024 has been revealed. The list consists of seven great players who have devoted their lives to hockey. Some of the players whose names were etched into history include Colin Campbell, David Poile, and Shea Weber.

Colin Campbell (Tillsonburg, ON)

Tillsonburg, ON is the hometown of Colin Campbell who has dedicated more than half a century to this game. From a player to a coach, an office with the rank of the Senior Executive Vice President at the NHL’s Hockey Operations. These events include a successful season in 1994 as the associate coach of the New York Rangers who won the Stanley Cup.

David Poile

David Poile began his foray into the NHL executive suite with the Atlanta Flames in 1972. He served as a steward of the Washington Capitals for 15 seasons and the Nashville Predators from 1997-2023. Poile had the longest tenure as a general manager. He earned his place in the USA Hockey Hall of Fame.

Natalie Darwitz (Saint Paul, Minnesota)

At the University of Minnesota, Darwitz became the fan favorite after her team won the national championship in 2005. She reached the pinnacle of success in the global arena as she competed in several Olympic Games and World Championships.

Pavel Datsyuk (Sverdlovsk, Russia)

Datsyuk played most of his NHL tenure for the Detroit Red Wings. He secured multiple Stanley Cup victories. He received the Lady Byng Award four times. His international experience includes participation in many Olympics representing Team Russia to win the prestigious gold in 2018.

Jeremy Roenick (Boston, MA)

Roenick carved himself a niche among the best American-born goal-scoring NHL players for the Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes. Roenick’s career lasted for 20 seasons and included appearances at all-star games. He achieved a silver medal in the Olympic Games in the year 2002.

Shea Weber (Sicamous, BC)

Weber originally played for the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League and was a talented defenseman. He played for the Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens. Some of the accomplishments of Weber are the gold medal in the Olympics for Team Canada in both 2010 and 2014.

Krissy Wendell-Pohl (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota)

In her high school and collegiate hockey, Pohl received recognition and won the Patty Kazmaier Award while playing for the University of Minnesota. Her performance with Team USA was also quite remarkable. Pohl won in World Championships and Olympic appearances several times.


Induction Celebration for Hockey Hall of Fame 2024

Mike Gartner, Chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, proudly welcomed the new inductees.

“The Hockey Hall of Fame is proud to welcome these hockey legends as Honoured Members,” said Gartner. “Their contributions to the game of hockey are well documented and their election to the Hockey Hall of Fame is richly deserved.”

The 2024 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration is scheduled for November 11 in Toronto, preceded by a series of events throughout "Induction Weekend." These festivities include the annual "HHOF Game" hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the "Hyundai HHOF Legends Classic," featuring Honoured Members Jayna Hefford and Eric Lindros as captains.
