Utah HC, the newly added NHL team's owner, Ryan Smith, has shared his thoughts on Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential race.
On July 21, President Biden announced that he would not seek reelection, responding to mounting pressure from within the Democratic Party. In a statement on X/Twitter, Biden affirmed his commitment to serving as the US President until January 2025 and announced plans to address the nation later this week.
"It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term. "I will speak to the nation later this week in more detail about my decision," Biden posted on X.
Utah HC's owner, Smith, responded to Biden's statement and expressed his support for the US's 48th president's decision, acknowledging the challenges of such a significant step.
"This is the correct move and good leadership. I’m sure it wasn’t easy," Smith posted on X."
Meanwhile, after the announcement, Biden officially backed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination, clarifying the path ahead for the Democrats.
"My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year," Biden posted on X.

Ugh. How in the world can you call it leadership when it was forced. He’s only dropping out because he was forced by donors. He had no choice.
