Ahead of Game 5 against the Panthers, the Rangers are considering some lineup changes. Filip Chytil is set to rejoin the lineup, adding firepower to the top line alongside Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider.
Additionally, defensive pairings are set to see adjustments, with K'Andre Miller slated to partner with Braden Schneider, while Jacob Trouba may find himself alongside Eric Gustafsson.
These lineup changes have drawn reactions from NHL fans.
"Sit Trouba for Jones. Split up Kreider and Mika. #NYR," one wrote.
One fan expressed enthusiasm for the pairing of K'Andre Miller with Braden Schneider but voiced concern over the combination of Eric Gustafsson and Jacob Trouba:
"I love Miller-Schneider but my god is Gus-Trouba gonna make me want to rip my eyes out of my skull."
Another fan suggested benching Trouba in favor of Jones and advocated for splitting up the dynamic duo of Kreider and Mika, tweeting:
"Sit Trouba for Jones. Split up Kreider and Mika. #NYR."
"#NYR gotta move the puck up ice. #Canes are stronger & faster. Rangers must be disciplined under the pressure & have a new strategy. Also leave #Chytl on line 1. Stop screwing around with the pieces and opt for stability. Don’t be #Gallant. Keep #Mika & #Kreider sane," one fan commented.
Not all fans were in agreement regarding Trouba's role on the team. One fan defended Trouba, arguing against the notion of benching him and suggesting that Gustafsson should be the one sitting out instead.
"Couldn’t be more against everyone in the 'sit Trouba' camp. If anyone should be sitting for ZJ it should be Gus.," the fan commented.
Meanwhile, another fan proposed a tactical approach of utilizing 11 forwards and seven defensemen to accommodate Jones and maximize Lafrenière's ice time.
"ready to go with 11F 7D to get Jones in on the PP and in situations when we have to move the puck from the back end. also, double shift Lafrenière whenever possible. if not w/ Kreids and Mika, then maybe on L3, on either wing. i love Fil, but he's not making a huge impact," a fan tweeted.
John Brancy sets the tone for Rangers' games at Madison Square Garden
John Brancy, a Grammy-winning operatic baritone, delivers powerful renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the New York Rangers games at Madison Square Garden.
Brancy appeared on "Sunday Brunch" on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio and said:
"I love embracing my fandom here and I love embracing this team, New York City is, for me, the greatest city in the world because I do a lot of performing here, at Carnegie Hall.
"I just wrapped a couple of shows at the famous Cafe Carlyle, so there are so many things here in New York that make it my home and my musical home. I love embracing that, so I embrace the teams and I embrace my Rangers," Bracy said.
Embracing his fandom and the city's energy, Brancy, a Juilliard graduate and longtime Rangers supporter, tailors each performance to match the crowd's energy. With a keen sense of the moment, he adjusts his delivery, aiming to inspire the team and fans.
