Vladimir Tarasenko is a 31-year-old professional ice hockey player from Russia who plays as a right winger for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Vladimir Tarasenko was traded to the New York Rangers on February 9, 2023. Tarasenko spent most of his career with the St. Louis Blues before joining the Rangers.
He was the Blues' 16th overall first-round choice in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and joined the team in the 2012-13 season. The Russian star winger played for the Blues for 11 seasons and won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
Tarasenko played a crucial role in helping the Blues end their 52-year Stanley Cup drought in 2019. During the Blues’ run to the 2019 Stanley Cup, the Russian star winger was the second-highest goal scorer for the team with 11 goals and was also the third-highest goal scorer in the playoffs.
During his 11-season stint with the Blues, Tarasenko established himself as the fifth-highest goal scorer in franchise history with 262 goals. Brett Hull, meanwhile, is the highest goal scorer for the Blues with 527 goals.
Vladimir Tarasenko's New York Rangers debut
After playing 11 seasons with the St. Louis Blues, Vladimir Tarasenko was traded to the New York Rangers on February 9, 2023. He made his official debut for the Rangers on February 10 against the Seattle Kraken.
The star winger headlined the night on his debut as he scored his first goal for the Rangers. Interestingly, Tarasenko showed his class in just under three minutes of the first period when he converted a beautiful pass from Artemi Panerin into the back of the net.

The Rangers fans at Madison Square Garden buzzed with Tarasenko's name after this beautiful and electrifying display from the 31-year-old star winger.
