The Chicago Blackhawks suffered a disappointing 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night at the United Center. This defeat dropped the Blackhawks to 15-29-5 on the season and marked their seventh loss in eight games.
Coach Anders Sorensen expressed frustration after the game:
"They were on top of us, and we weren’t ready to battle through some of that. We spent too much time in our own zone, and when we had opportunities to shoot, we missed the net or it got blocked. Then it’s hard to sustain any type of pressure," Sorensen said (per NHL.com).
Sorensen emphasized the need to learn from this experience, as the league is tough, especially for young players.
“It's a hard league to play in, especially as a young player and you know, you got to find your opportunities to create offense, but you also got to find your shifts where you got to realize there's not much going on, I just got to play shifts off,” he added.
Sorensen advised the defensemen to focus on efficiently advancing pucks and defending hard.
Seth Jones and Frank Nazar scored for the Chicago Blackhawks. Marcus Foligno, Joel Eriksson Ek, Frederick Gaudreau and Jared Spurgeon scored for Minnesota. Filip Gustavsson made 19 stops, while Petr Mrazek has 24 stops in the loss.

“It’s just another game where we didn’t come out good enough,” Tyler Bertuzzi said.
